     Today I read an article about climate change. It said that the climate of the earth is getting worse. Heavy rains are causing devastating floods and landslides. Heavy rains are caused by the system called "atmospheric river". It is said to be strong in the future. If nothing is done, heavy rains may cause unprecedented catastrophes.

     This time, I'll introduce the contents of the practice of the rowing club.　Can you imagine what the rowing club is doing? On weekdays and days when the weather is bad and we can't get on boats, we train using the equipment in the photo below. This is an instrument called an Ergometer. Most rowing club members hate it because the training to use it is very hard physically and mentally. Of course, I also hate it. There are many types of training using it. For example, row 5000 meters, row 7000 meters, etc. Anyway, it's tight.

Last weekend, a boat tournament was held in a river in Fukuyama City, Hiroshima Prefecture. It was Chugoku Taikai. I participated in the tournament. I'm going to tell you about the content and results of the tournament.  I participated in a double boat. First of all, the ranking was 2nd. There were 12 boats, so it was a pretty good result. By the way, the crews who won it were also the crews of Hiroshima University. I had two races, qualifying and final. We raced on four boats each. We passed the qualifying in 2nd place and the final was also 2nd. The direction of the race and the flow of the river were exactly the opposite. That means that if we don't row hard, the boat will be swept away by the stream. However, we did our best to row. I was tired, but it was a fun tournament. 

Today, I'm going to tell you about "Shimane". It is because I'm from Matsue. Matsue City is located in Shimane prefecture.  I know the beautiful scenery that can be seen in Shimane. It's the sunset over the lake Shinji. I want you to see it. You should be impressed. A long and narrow sunset is reflected in the lake. It's like a road on the lake. Izumo City has "Izumo Taisha". It's a big shrine. It's famous for the god of matchmaking. If you want girlfriends or boyfriends, you may have to go there. You can also eat Izumo soba when you go to Izumo. It's very delicious. 

      There are two women and two dogs in the picture. A woman is wearing a blue dress. The other woman is dressed in black. Both dogs are white and very big. And they are wearing gorgeous collars.  It looks sunny.

I want to go to every hot spring in Japan. However, I can't go now because of Corona. I want to go there by the time I graduate from university. I'm going to introduce some hot springs that I especially want to visit. First is Kinosaki hot spring. It is in Hyogo prefecture. Actually, I have been there some times. I like there very much. Kinosaki has a very historical appearance. There are many hot springs, so we can't go to all of them unless you go there many times. The second is Kusatsu. It is in Gunma prefecture. I have never been there. I've seen a lot on TV and want to go. I'm not sure about the charm of Kusatsu Onsen, but I would like to actually go and see it myself.
